Sometimes, things just don’t go as planned.
If you’re reading this, there’s a good chance you’re at a place in your life that I know well: you’re longing to be a parent, but not sure how it’s going to happen.
You’ve faced challenges and setbacks that you didn’t see coming: lab results that threw you for a loop. Treatment cycles that failed. Vocabulary you never anticipated having to learn. Decisions you never anticipated having to make (Do we keep trying, or use a donor? Open donor, or anonymous donor? Do we go for IVF, or adoption? Thirty years from now, will I regret not having another child?).
You’re navigating loss, complicated emotions, and a path that’s turned out to be far more complicated than you ever imagined.
You might be asking yourself:
• Why is becoming a parent so easy for so many people, and so hard for me?
• Will I ever have a child?
• Will I ever have another child?
• Will I ever be able to afford treatment?
• Will I ever be able to afford adoption?
• Will my friendships ever be the same?
• What will my future child think about these choices?
• What if I have another miscarriage?
• What if my body is just broken?
• What if the doctors are wrong?
As much as I wish I could invite you over to my home, prepare you a cup of tea, give you a hug, and tell you everything you’re longing to know… I can’t answer these questions for you. (I couldn’t answer them for myself, either.)
But what I can do is remind you that your story isn’t finished yet.
I can ask you questions that help you tune into your truest values, your wisest self, the part of you that knows, deep down, that you’ll find a way through this.
I can offer mind-body tools that will help you slow down enough to hear the wisdom of your body at a time when you and your body might not be the best of friends.
I can offer a safe, listening ear as someone who’s been through my own version of this path, and help you create a plan for staying sane and true to yourself during what might be one of the most challenging seasons of your life.
I can help you hear yourself, trust yourself, and connect to the resources that will help you create the family of your dreams.
If this is the kind of support you’re looking for, welcome: you’re in the right place. Read on to learn more about my story and the ways we can work together.
