I’m so excited to share an interview I recently recorded with my dear friend and fellow coach, Alaya Morning. Alaya is the mother of two children, ages 4 and 8, and she was one of the first mom friends I spoke to at length about climate change a few years back – it was an honor to be interviewed by her.
In the interview, we spoke about my new book, Parenting in a Changing Climate, and explored what it means to be a parent of young children in an age of global warming. We talked about my story of waking up to climate change, Alaya’s experience of being a parent in an area vulnerable to wildfires, what it’s like to parent a neurodivergent child in these times, and the skills we need as parents to cultivate resilience in ourselves and our kids.
And, spoiler alert: parenting in an age of climate change is both an opportunity and a challenge.
But, by the end of the interview, I hope you’ll feel more oriented to opportunity and possibility. Our conversation is an hour long, and Alaya has made it available in both video and audio forms. We’d love to hear your thoughts and questions – and we hope you enjoy it.
