Friends, I’m so excited to share that my book Parenting in a Changing Climate is finally here!
I wrote this book as a response to my own experience of “waking up” to climate change a few years ago when my twins were very young. For me, knowing I needed to do something about the climate crisis during a season when I already felt stretched beyond my capacity as a mother on a daily basis felt completely overwhelming. Parenting in a Changing Climate is a love letter to parents who are in the same boat: alarmed about the climate crisis, desperately wanting to find ways to make a difference, and also wondering how the heck they’re going to take action when parenting is so much to hold every single day. My hope is that the book will help these parents (maybe you’re one of them!) feel less alone – and find ways to become the climate activists our children deserve.
The book is now available for purchase on Amazon.com sites worldwide (you can click here to purchase your copy today!). Due to COVID-related delays, it’s going to take us a little longer (possibly up to 2-3 months) to make it available at other online booksellers, but know that my publisher and I are working on this too – we love small and independent booksellers.
I’d love nothing more than to see you holding a copy of the book in your hands. Please tag me and use the hashtag #parentinginachangingclimate if you are willing to share it on social media (I’m mostly on Instagram) and/or post an online review – positive reviews on Amazon and Goodreads help tremendously. It’s also my deepest hope that this is a book that will be read in community – parenting in a changing climate is too heavy a burden to bear alone, and we shouldn’t have to. Read it with a friend, partner, family member, or small group – it’s meant to be a book shared and discussed with others.
I couldn’t be more grateful for the support of this community throughout the journey of writing this book – thank you so much for being a part of my world. This book wouldn’t exist without so many of you and I hope you know that I felt your love and support on every single page as I wrote. Thank you.
